Helping victims of natural disasters DATE: 2011.09.30 - 2011.10.01 Location: Tokyo ORGANIZER: Tokiwa University, UNU-ISP and JEMRI The Tokiwa International Victimology Institute (TIVI; Tokiwa University, Mito, Japan) will hold a two-day symposium under the theme "Helping Victims of Natural Disasters: From Grassroots to Governance” in collaboration with the United Nations University Institute for Sustainability and Peace (UNU-ISP) and the Japan-US Evidence-based Mental Health Response Initiative (JEMRI; Charleston, South Carolina, USA). Professionals working for disaster victims in management, medical services, social welfare, and education, and anyone interested in helping disaster victims, as well as victims and surviving families of natural disasters, are welcome to attend.
