Black Stripe Theater presents SEVEN, Join us April 14-17

April 14-17, Black Stripe Theater will present the acclaimed documentary play SEVEN @ Sangubashi Transmission Theater SEVEN Written by Paula Cizmar, Catherine Filloux, Gail Kriegel, Carol K. Mack, Ruth Margraff, Anna Deavere Smith and Susan Yankowitz SEVEN  tells the true stories of seven women who bravely fought for the well-being of women, families, and children around the globe: in Russia , protecting women from domestic violence; in Cambodia , rescuing girls from human trafficking; in Guatemala , giving voice to the poor; in Afghanistan , empowering rural women; in Nigeria and Pakistan , fighting for women’s education and rights; and in Northern Ireland , promoting peace and equality. SEVEN will be directed by Rachel Walzer and produced by Sarajean Rossitto.  Global Issues and How International NGOs Tackle Them (8 Weeks) (NGO201) Mondays 19:10-21:30 February 1st ~ March 28 ( Maps & Directions ) Apply for this Course Course Details NGO 201 is for anyone who would like to understand more about current issues including the Global Goals for Sustainable Development and the strategies used by nonprofit-NGOs to deal with them. Each week we review a different theme and then discuss possible ways to tackle problems. Activities will help us understand the problems and pressures people face allowing everyone for a chance to rethink our assumptions while also learning more. Weekly assignments include online readings and online research which guide discussion so that class participants will better understand causes, impacts and connections between of a wide array of issues.
